Alexander Radkin Zhukov

Alexander Borisovich Radkin Zhukov[1] is a prominent Russian oligarch based in London with homes in Sardinia, Israel, Moscow and London. He is the founder of the now defunct oil company Sintez UK. Under the USSR, Zhukov was part of the "old Communist aristocracy".[2] He is believed now to be on good terms with Vladimir Putin.[2]

In 1991 Sintez UK, and Alexander Zhukov along with Leonid Lebedev, were involved in a major arms scandal. This relates to a massive shipment of arms including 30,000 AK47 Kalashnikov rifles, 400 guided missiles, 10,000 anti-tank missiles and 32 million rounds of ammunition which were seized on a ship, the Jadran Express. Sintez UK was accused by Italian police of being involved in illegal arms deals to the Balkans, with Zhukov and Lenonid Menin being key players. Alexander Zhukov was arrested in 1991 by Italian police for arms traficking and spent 6 months in an Italian jail before being cleared of charges.[3]

He is the father of Dasha Zhukova.[2][4]
